23 Nov Banana Cabaret this weekend : Angela Barnes, Andy Askins, Tim Clarke, Jarred Christmas

It’s a huge weekend of stand-up comedy this weekend at “the friendliest comedy club in the country”, according to our friends at Time Out.

Described as “brilliantly funny” by Sarah Millican, and winner of BBC’s New Comedy Award Special and Russell Kane’s Whistlestop Tour, Angela Barnes has played on Eddie Izzard’s Laughs in the Park and Russell Howard’s Good News on BBC Three, and is on unstoppable, brilliant form.

We’re delighted to also welcome back Andy Askins this weekend, who tops a stellar bill this weekend, featuring the divine Meryl O’Rourke, Addy Van Der Borgh and Geoff Norcott.

Andy’s outstanding musical lampoonery takes well known hits and skews them with blistering, eye-wateringly funny lyrics, and is a total one-off. Don’t miss.

and as well as the blisteringly funny Tim Clarke, we’re delighted to welcome back “A fabulously boisterous kiwi with a definite future”, according to the Evening Standard.Jarred Christmas has a unique style that deftly mixes gags with storytelling. He has a dynamic onstage persona and the ability to improvise and roll with anything that’s thrown his way, making his comedy sizzle with originality.

Full of passion and charisma Jarred takes the audience on a hilarious thrill ride of laughs and gasps with an edge of anger that manifests itself in his incredible rants against the small things in our lives. His confidence leaves the audience secure in the knowledge that they are in very capable hands. His material is strong and distinctive, drawn from life experience and random happenings.

Whether performing sets, compeering, acting, or improvising, Jarred has bundles of talent and will always shine no matter what performance situation he is put in. Give him a room above a pub with an audience of 8, or an audience of 3000 at Glastonbury Festival and he will shine.
