With a voice that can flit from an angelic high through to a raw rush-hour rage, Sophie Kilburn is a 25 year old singer-songwriter with a delicate strength in plucking the heart strings of the listeners through her soul-hugging sound.

Originating from the picturesque hills of the Derbyshire Dales, Sophie’s musical adventure started from sitting on the garden bench gorping at the musical magician – her dad; one minute ‘playing the blues’, the next riffing on the electric guitar behind his head. Before her long legs fully developed her dad brought Sophie her first guitar and she started to strum away, half the time not knowing what she was playing. Beginning to write her own material, the creative flame began to spark. Her time-travelling influences scope from Dire Straits, Abba, Tracey Chapman, London Grammar to James Bay.

Seeing everything from a person she met on a night out to a public signpost as her muse, Sophie creates songs with heartfelt honesty, with words that don’t sugar coat or preach but leave the listener room to breathe. Her entrancing vocal peak blends effortlessly with a resonating city-life grit. The origin of this mix is unknown but might be down to the change from avid tea drinker to coffee commuter. Coaxing chronicles, playful dynamics and homely warmth all infuse her soul folk acoustics that truly captures the ear of the beholder

Sophie released her debut single Hands In the Fire in December 2016, which explored fear, love and loneliness from a young woman’s mind. The debut EP,Blind by Daffodils, will premiere in late spring 2018 and is in loving memory of her mother. Daffodils have also stemmed into Sophie’s artist motif, a reminder to always keep her feet firmly rooted to the ground.

Here is a woman who has found her strength and brings nothing but love, energy and honesty to every performance. Her quirky and quick-witted comments make her instantly likeable and reinforces her down-to-earth soul. A starry guitar (Sydney), scruffy boots and an infectious smile all compliment Sophie’s presence. That added with her raspy tender voice has the mesmerising effect of turning tables as well as heads.

Norwegian born singer-songwriter Liv Austen returns with another infectious slice of country-pop. New single The Next Time is out now via NUA Entertainment.

Written with Jessica Sharman (Ward Thomas) and mixed by Ash Howes (Ellie Goulding, The Corrs), The Next Time is about finding the courage to tell someone they’ve used up their second chance with you. It combines catchy pop hooks akin to the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen with Austen’s crystalline vocals, country-inspired musicality and a rich storytelling charm to create something truly addictive.

The Next Time has received huge attention from both press and radio picking up great reviews throughout the country circuit, and having been added to the A-List of Chris Country Radio, making her the only UK artist on the list.

The turning point for Austen came when, aged seventeen, a singing teacher forced her to confront her stage fright and perform in front of her peers. Since then, she has released two EPs independently and has already received support from the likes of BBC Radio 2’s Paul Sexton. Liv has also performed at London’s acclaimed Country2Country festival and now looks set to seduce listeners across the globe with her twinkling, country-tinged pop.

The Next Time, is the new single by Liv Austen and is out now via NUA Entertainment.
