Tonight we have an evening of great live music from:

The music of Jo-ash Scott, 24, is a testament to how the complexities of mental health, bereavement and a less than satisfactory social services system can’t prevent the powerful melody that can rise out of even the most obscure and seemingly hopeless places. And through his music he refuses to be stigmatized by the social inequalities his childhood bestowed upon him; as the lyrics to one of his songs says; ‘Love is the greatest therapy for me.’

Inspired and captivated by the voices of Luciano Pavarotti, Otis Redding, Whitney Houston, and Barbra Streisand among many others, Jo-ash set out on his own musical journey. He dominates a plethora of vocal stylings, writing various genres and showcasing his artistic dexterity. Over time his style has become a soulful and eclectic mix of multi genre magic, ranging from Acoustic Indie/ Pop/Reggae/Soul+R&B, and even House.

After a period of personal difficulty when three close family members passed away, Jo-ash became more immersed in acoustic and piano based music and penned his latest singles, In Your Arms, You Were My Sister, and Apple Tree.
A former participant of Capital Xtra’s Music Potential, Jo-ash is now studying a foundation degree in music production at Community Music to further his skills and repertoire. He has recently been promoting his soon to be released singles ‘In Your Arms, Apple Tree and ‘Motivation’; (a smooth and velvety Motown Jam) with memorable performances at The Tate Modern and Soho’s iconic Private Members Club, The House Of St Barnabas as well as many other places.

Through his music he continues to gain the attention of big names like Brent Hansen, (former President of MTV Europe) who has said great things about him..There is no doubt that Jo-ash is a star in the making.

Ebony is an Australian-born singer/songwriter/actor/keen amateur percussion player living in London. After a rather whimsical upbringing by the sea, eating coconuts and dreaming of mermaids, Ebony decided her path lay across the seas and she eventually arrived on the rocky shores of ye olde Great Britain.

She has joined forces with her talented Husband Nick Burns and their sound is quirky folk-pop with a twist! Her songs are inspired by the stories she grew up with, the creatures she wishes she knew, and the ridiculous situations she manages to get in to! All in all, they are dramatic, moving and oftentimes just a little bit strange!

Maple & Gillies is a folk duo based in London, England. Their songs are textured with colorful lyricism and rustic instrumentation while intricate harmonies and creative multi tasking add depth and intrigue to their songs. Maple & Gillies’ work is at times a blend of reality and fantasy, and at other times simply meant to evoke a sense of being elsewhere in time and space.

By the time that he relocated to Europe from his native Melbourne in 2010, Jaimi Faulkner had already racked up an impressive list of credits as a powerful, soulful singer, exceptional guitarist and songwriter of great potential. His debut album “Last Light” (2004) garnered rave reviews in Australia and received considerable airplay there. Faulkner devoted the next years to extensive live performance, both as a solo artist and as support with touring acts such as Chris Whitley and Chris Isaak, as well as being nominated to represent Australia at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. His next full length album “Kiss and Ride” (2009) underlined his growing abilities as a songwriter, producer and arranger and brought Jaimi to the attention of European audiences for the first time.

CORBETT is a singer/songwriter from London. His writing is inspired by the late Leonard Cohen; he is also influenced by Paolo Nutini, Matt Bellamy, Johnny Cash and Passenger.
