Tonight we have an evening of great live music from:
Proudly independent London-based pop duo OMYO (pronounced Ohm-Yo, an acronym for ‘Our Music Your Opinion’) is made up of Oxfordshire-born Tom McCorkell (24, vocals) and William Edward (27, music and backing vocals) who have been making music together since they took on a bet to write a song one New Year’s Eve. After finding their sound in a mix of infectious acoustic and synth-inspired urban-pop, the band has gone on to play the UK festival circuit including a set at Wireless Festival, and have been featured on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1 Xtra, The Sun, Sunday Mirror, Clash Music & more.
Alessio Martin band is a project based on a collection of poems merged with folk songs written and arranged by Alessio Martin.
The project started as a solo performance and it evolved into a band project later with the contribution of the musicians in the band. The mix of the different style of music and influences of each musician blended to create the sound of the band. An Indie/folk storytelling style enliven by the groovy sound of the rhythmic session with some pop traits in the vocal lines and a some violin’s parts that vaguely remind of a classical arrangement.
THE GLASS MOUNTAINS – COUNTRY HEART, BIG CITY SOUL
South-east London is a long way from Nashville but The Glass Mountains are bringing their brand of country to the capital one gig at a time.
The band, whose name refers to the London skyline and the invisible barriers between rich and poor communities, say their heart is in country but their feet are firmly in the city.
Based south of the river, the band’s songs are just as likely to feature inner city life as dirt roads, pickup trucks and cowboys and if a song sounds more RnB than Tennessee then that’s just fine.
Their music is a reflection of country’s diversity with influences from soul, pop, blues, bluegrass as well as classic country.
“By stripping their set to three part harmonies, acoustic guitar and Memphis soul electric lead… the result is a surprising triumph” – Ken Irvine, AMERICANA-UK.COM
“…delivered with credible sincerity by Davies” – Ken Irvine, AMERICANA-UK.COM
“They herald from South London, but you’d be forgiven for thinking that they have lived their entire lives over in Nashville. Their sound is pure and honest, never feeling like a band from South London trying to be a country band – They simply have it in their blood” – https://www.markmathewsmusic.com/single-post/2017/11/01/2-Independent-Artists-you-NEED-to-check-out
