Whittled down from almost 1000 entries, Gracie was selected along with 71 other contestants to attend the regional heats, progressing through the semis to the grand final in London where she competed with three other songwriters to win the accolade of the best UK UNSIGNED SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR 2016.
Gracie was born and bred in Rugby, Warwickshire but is now based in Bridlington, on the East Yorkshire coast.
She has been writing songs since around age 11 and independently released her debut album Down But Not Defeated in 2015.
She writes songs with a natural ease and autobiographical touch, blending memorable melodies, emotive music and poignant, relatable lyrics to create a new yet familiar sound.
Gracie has been played on various radio stations including BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6 Music, and has been played by Bob Harris after performing at Latitude Festival 2016 alongside the likes of The Maccabees and The National, and being introduced by Bob himself.
Gracie has Performed over the last 5 years as a support act to established artists such as Seafret, Judy Tzuke and David Ford and for up and coming acts including Dexeter and Blair Dunlop, as well as touring the USA to promote her work. She has also shared the stage with some of the greats in the Songwriting world including Barry Mason (Delilah – Tom Jones) Phil Pickett (Karma Chameleon – Culture Club) Joe Hughes (No More I Love You’s – Annie Lennox) Fiona Bevan (Little Things – One Direction)
Gracie is currently recording her second album and working on a series of music videos to promote this alongside writing and recording demos for her third and fourth albums of original songs, touring the UK with Caffè Nero and planning for the future ahead.
In light of becoming the best UK Unsigned Songwriter Of The Year 2016, Gracie is excited and inspired to be moving onwards and upwards with the support of The SongWriting Academy, Café Nero, Yamaha and friends, family and fans.
Janie Price aka Bird was six years old when she first picked up a cello and 11 when she first sat behind the drums, which would eventually lead her to her first gig headlining the legendary Marquee Club in an all girl punk band…
She continued her career as a session musician; Drummed for Haddaway, recorded cello for Sony, Mercury, Universal and many other major labels’ artists. She sang bv’s and lead vocals on live shows as diverse as TGI Friday, National Lottery, Glastonbury, V Festival and Roskilde.
Eventually she wanted to start writing music as well as playing, created her stage persona Bird and released her first album “The Insides” to considerable critical acclaim.
On Bird’s latest album ‘Figments of Our Imagination’ Bird showcases her multi-instrumental skills by playing every recorded instrument herself, part-produced by legendary Rolling Stones Producer, Chris Kimsey in London and mixed by Lee Groves in New York.

Following the Top 10 club chart success of the Bimbo Jones remix version of her single Hypnotise, Bird was contacted by some of the UK’s top remix teams wanting to get involved in her project and before too long another album’s worth of material was created. Ten remix versions of the original album’s material featuring tracks by DEVolution, Seamus Haji, Moto Blanco, Full Intention and Wideboys was released under the title “Beat”. The club EP sampler version went to #8 in the Music Week Commercial Club Pop Charts last Autumn.

As well as her own project Janie also works as a songwriter for a variety of other artists. Last year she co-wrote and featured on the title track and second single for Belgium band Hooverphonic. The album went straight in the charts at #1 and her single went top 10 shortly after. The album is currently certified gold. She also co-wrote on platinum certified artist Aura’s hit album and has worked with numerous international artists including Vanessa Mae, Kenneth Bager, Emeli Sande, Just Jack and Café del Mar.
2017 sees her back in the studio, both writing for other artists and working on the new Bird album “Inside Out” due for release Autumn 2017– The first single “Crazy” is due for release this Spring, including a package of remix versions.

To the North West of England, at the point where Liverpool city’s vast buildings slowly fade in to the abyss whilst on the 14-bus heading out of the city centre, you’ll find Croxteth or more locally known as ‘Crocky’. Home of England Captain Wayne Rooney and hometown to 20-year-old-singer-songwriter Joe Slater. Rooted with raw sentiment and musical precision, it’s within the borders of this L11 postcode where Slater made his first mark. A young head on wise shoulders, with musical inspirations hailing from Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Oasis and Van Morrison. Slater’s variety of music cannot be classed within a single genre as his unique melodic approach blurs the lines between Blues, Soul and Rock n Roll.

Steve Young is a globe trotting session guitarist, teacher & entertainer turned Singer/Songwriter.
Early TV appearances with Lionel Richie & Peter Andre soon led to full time touring duties with world famous artists – most notably ex Savage Garden front man Darren Hayes which took Steve on trips around the world performing at the Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Arena, Brisbane QPAC, LA Roxy and many more and ending as co-writer on his last album in 2012
Since writing and releasing an EP in 2014 and crowd funded Album in 2016 Steve has performed at The London O2 – Country 2 Country Festival. Time Out London’s ‘Rising Stars of UK Country’ Multiple shows at the Edinburgh Free Fringe, recorded live for Bob Harris’ – Under The Apple Tree Sessions, opened for Carlene Carter (daughter of Johnny Cash’s wife June Carter) as well as opening sets for Broadway Star – Ramin Karimloo, UK Blues Artist – Jo Harman, Brit Award winner Tom O’Dell (Help Refugees) as well as many solo gigs around the UK
In Jan 2017 he released his 3rd single from the ‘Troubadour’ album – a remixed & remastered version of ‘In My Dreams’ which has enjoyed radio play around the world including BBC Radio 2, Radio Caroline, Chris Country Radio and 100’s of community / online stations
During Jan/Feb Steve drove over 5000 miles touring as Caffe Nero’s ‘Artist Of The Month’ playing at over 30 stores from Scotland down to Portsmouth
In May 2017 another Pledge Music Target was successfully hit and recording for a new ‘White Label EP’ is about to begin with UK Country Producer – Justin Johnson
