Tonight we have 5 fantastic original artists performing live in the Club Room plus a special early set from NUUX

8pm EARLY SET _Nuuxs

Nuux [pronounced Nooks] is an alternative, pop-noir artist. She tells her story song by song. French/ Lao heritage but growing up in London, Hackney UK.

She wrote poems from a young age expressing how she felt inside and when in her early teens met up with like minded musicians, realised that she could form them into songs. She began in an Indie-Rock band and then went on writing acoustically with her guitarist friend and started performing open mic nights at various venues around London. This lead to her working with various producers in the studio and she started recording and experimenting with her sound from Grime, House, and UK Hip-Hop.

Her sound is a blend of well-crafted songs and honest lyrics, balanced with an experimental pop sensibility.

“NUUXS is destined for great things.” – Wonderland
“A songwriter determined to tread her own path” – Clash
“NUUXS commands with her desire and longing.” – Nylon

The youngest of five brothers, it’s no surprise that Joel Stewart’s songwriting conveys a sense of timelessness far beyond his twenty-three years. With his sibling’s musical guidance, it’s easy to hear a lifetime of influences in Stewart’s sound, who credits the likes of Rodriguez, Justin Vernon, Ben Howard and Tallest Man On Earth as inspiration.

But while his sound has roots in the past, his approach to presenting his music to the world is very much of his generation. Working with the equally fresh-faced producer Lauren Deakin Davies, Stewart’s tender lyrics of young love are transformed into powerful protests of emotion.

Frequent gigging around his local Hertfordshire has been followed by regular performances at Camden’s Spiritual Bar, Live from Salon Noir and Sofar Sounds, New Music Monday at The Ned, and has taken him to California to play a string of shows in LA and San Francisco in early 2019. Stewart has released 3 singles so far: For the Very First Time (05.02.19); System (26.02.19): and Non Believer (29.05.19), gaining over 75k Streams at the time of writing, and the year ahead looks to be an exciting one for the young singer songwriter.

Jackson is a British singer-songwriter based in London. He is a new face on the music scene and writes and performs primarily R&B and pop music. He draws inspiration from many artists such as H.E.R., James Arthur and Alessia Cara and tries to utilise a similarly honest and vulnerable approach to his own songwriting.

He has recently performed in Sweden and hopes to release his own EP as soon as he can. Jackson views songwriting as comparable to story telling and finds it extremely therapeutic so consequently has songs about many topics such as love, loss and struggle. He is yet to release these songs for the world to hear but is currently sharing his gift through social media in order to gain a following to support his upcoming original music. He hopes to connect with others through his songs and use his music to change people’s perspectives whilst also connecting with them on an emotional level. He does so by singing about his own experiences but in a way that others can easily relate to. He hopes to one day release his own album in order to share his stories in the best way he knows how: music.
