8:00 pm DETWEILER

Detweiler are a synth-pop duo cultivating upbeat hooky belters that always have something to say; their mission is to connect with listeners from every spectrum and explore the lightness to be found in even the worst of situations.
The duo consists of Hartlepool-born siblings, David and Marianne Holt. They have been singing together all their lives and have a unique and intrinsically harmonious vocal style. All of their music is composed and produced with a DIY spirit at David’s home in Leighton Buzzard. Their latest single is ‘Passionista’, an alt-rock and house inspired examination of fearing your sexuality and a love story which started in a falafel shop in Birmingham. Detweiler have been making an impact in their local music scenes sharing a stage with Toploader at one of the UK’s leading music venues, The Stables. They raised over £1600 for War Child to assist with their work over the pandemic through a live streamed gig.  Their genre-defying debut EP drops early 2022.

8:40pm BLÁNID

Singer/songwriter BLÁNID is a fresh new voice on the UK music scene. Hailing from Ireland, she fuses indie folk, jazz, and modern tones. With a hauntingly powerful voice and confessional style, she etches unforgettable stories on the listener’s ear.

BLÁNID has had an extraordinary 2021. Her debut single “Fool’s Gold” released in March was met with critical acclaim, with plays on BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Ulster & Foyle, BBC Radio Kent, and 4 plays on BBC Radio 1 (Power Down Playlist & The Chillest Show), where it was described as a ‘cinematic masterpiece’ alongside her ‘completely captivating’ voice. BLÁNID also appeared as a featured vocalist on Netflix’s anime Witcher film soundtrack (The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf).

Her next single “Dead Men Dancing”, coming 29.10.21, features a swirling soundscape and surrealist lyricism about feeling lost in a disintegrating relationship. With comparisons to Kate Bush, Sinéad O’Connor, and Joni Mitchell, for BLÁNID this is only the beginning.
