Sophie Kilburn is a Derbyshire born singer, songwriter (currently living in London) and full-time coffee addict who merges melancholic pop with fiery indie-angst. With entrancing vocals that leave you breathless, Sophie fuses evocative lyricism with alt-rock and swaying melodies to form a new cutting-edge sound.

Her debut single,” Alt-Indie Banger” (Fame Magazine) ‘Indigo Fever’ was released late last year, premiering in XS Noize “showcasing her undeniable songwriting talent”. The single went on to feature in numerous publications like Downtown NYC Magazine, Indietronica and Its All Indie, leading to a performance at BBC Introducing Live 2019.

Sophie recently released her latest “driving pop anthem” (Complex UK) ‘Broke’ that dives into the aftermath of grief and the need to feel emotion. Both singles will feature on her debut EP ‘My Room Made Public’ set for release June this year.

Her distinctive sound draws influence from across the indie rock and folk scene, with her main sonic inspiration coming from the likes of PJ Harvey, Florence and The Machine, Lana Del Rey and Alt-J, though her own sound also leans on elements of art pop and blues.

For Sophie, performing live is an essential cog in her creative output. Her mesmeric live performances have led to shows at influential venues such as The Lexington and The O2 Islington, she’s also shared the stage with folk legend Shirley Collins (MBE) at Camden Roundhouse, later ending her music residency there with a sold-out show.

Sophie Kilburn is an artist with an aura of true originality. Let her be your new obsession.
