8:00 PM MAGGIE BARING
Maggie Baring is a rising artist and songwriter based in London, freshly out of university and starting her career in music full-time. Maggie’s previous releases demonstrate her range in songwriting ability, from soul-funk to folk to country. Her EP ‘Uncovered’, was influenced by the modern folk writers of northern America, such as Noah Kahan and Gregory Alan Isakov, while her most recent release, ‘Dont Let Me Move On’ devles into the world of alt-pop/folk-pop, with inspirations from Dido and Aurora.
Having written a dissertation at Durham University on the work of Leonard Cohen, the project’s lyrics delve into the rich history of folk writing which inspires her songwriting. The EP saw success on social media platforms, with the single, ‘Jolene’, amassing 8 million views in one video, and being featured as Riverside Radio’s ‘Track of the Week’. Maggie’s most recent gigs show audiences singing the words back to her word-for-word.
