840 pm FLORIE NAMIR

Tel Aviv-born singer-songwriter and pianist Florie Namir offers a refreshingly vibrant blend of 1940’s American jazz vocal stylings fused with classic pop music influences. After a decade spent in Boston, MA, she moved to London where she created an immediate impact; her effervescent song “Mornings” winning the UK Songwriting Contest in February 2021 in the Jazz category.

Tonight, Florie is celebrating the release of her EP, I Wanna Be in Love, fusing graceful elegance with a jazz club ambiance. Among widespread approval, her music has drawn the attention of BBC Radio 6 Music’s Tom Robinson. Florie’s irresistibly catchy songs are seen through the lens of a long-term ex-pat as they touch on homesickness, one-time encounters, and appreciation for life as an outsider. The opening song, “Far, Far Away” sees Florie ready to embrace a career as a singer-songwriter fully, yet is modestly balanced by hopeful expectation: “Tomorrow I’m starting the rest of my life.”

9:40 pm ALEX HALL

‘An invite to record in Warner UK Studios, an inclusion on the prestigious BBC Introducing list of ‘Ones To Watch’ 2022, a sell-out show at St John’s Church (Banquet Records), and even transatlantic radio play, it’s fair to say 2021 had been a ‘bust down the door and smile on the other side’ year for Hampshire-born singer-songwriter and self producer Alex Hall.

His Cinematic Pop – meets Lo-Fi – meet anthemic Indie songs (such as Pterodactyl and Still Hurts) are dazzling explosive modern-pop earworms, where cutting edge production chops fuse effortlessly with English sensibility and guy-next-door sentiments. As a songwriter, he has even been daringly described as even a Ray Davies for our times’ by Glastonbury Emerging Talent judge Tony Hardy and has garnered avid praise from Grammy Award-winning heavy-weight engineer Jon Jacobs.’
