8:00pm PHOEBE REA

21 year old Phoebe is obsessed with songs and songwriting. She grew up in Oxford, England in a family immersed in music – her mum touring, playing in orchestras and her dad, composing music for films.  Classically trained on the piano since the age of 4, Phoebe’s aspirations of being a singer began, when aged 7 she discovered an Ella Fitzgerald cd and began singing ‘All of Me’ on repeat on her Barbie karaoke machine. Inspired, she started writing songs before she had reached the age of 10.  She loves the songwriting of Alicia Keys and Carole King and her influences range diversely, from Buddy Guy to Peter Gabriel, Elton John to Beyoncé, Tom Odell to Laura Mvula. With a powerful voice full of emotion that packs a punch and songs possessing lyrics that belie her young age, Phoebe loves music that keeps you interested, makes you want to dance or simply moves you.

8:30pm WITH SUN

With Sun is the artist name of singer-songwriter and poet Alice Hale. Following in the footsteps of her father, songwriter Keith Hale (Toyah/Hawkwind), Alice began writing when she was 13.

Influenced by artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Björk and Kings of Convenience, Alice’s music been described as “shades of Tracey Thorn in a jam with Laura Marling while Joni Mitchell keeps score.” – Trust The Doc

Guided by her distinctive voice, Alice’s songs are inspired by a love of storytelling and truth. Her lyrics express vulnerability, reflecting her own personal experiences as well as wider societal issues such as inequality and mental health.
Alice’s recent projects have seen her experimenting with a more spacious sound than her earlier recordings. Her latest single Night and Day became a Fresh on The Net ‘Fresh Fave’ and was included on BBC 6 Music’s Introducing Mixtape hosted by Tom Robinson.

The next With Sun single will be released in October, followed by an EP in Spring 2022.

“Alice’s voice resonates brightly with a compelling note of sadness quietly resting at its heart; the vocal melody unfolding in carefully crafted and contrasting phrases, evocative of the classic songs of the legendary songwriters of yesteryear. Every aspect of Night And Day is done to the highest standard, with the greatest attention.” – Fresh On The Net

9:30pm ROBBIE BOYD

Robbie Boyd has performed live on ITV’s This Morning twice, played alongside the likes of Katie Melua, McFly and Frank Turner. He has also supported KT Tunstall and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, while playing in front of 30,000 people with The Feeling. Graham Norton has played nearly 15 of his singles on BBC Radio 2 and he (Robbie!) has toured the world from Argentina, Australia, Europe, to Japan. His songs have also been played on Absolute Radio, Xfm, and BBC 6 Music among others. He was the first ever Brit, to perform on the Roof of the O2 Arena, and has released three celebrated albums. Ray Davies, Simon Cowell and Jeremy Vine are amongst his fans, and he has many albums still up his sleeve to be released. One thing that sets Boyd apart from the rest, is that his music is sensitive, soul-full and heart-warming, set to a backdrop of folky, poppy ballard-esque rhythms. He is certainly one to watch, as Time Out, The Times, and Record of The Day, would also attest to. The Evening Standard and London Live have also supported Boyd from the early years to now.
