ANDY SMYTHE

A singer-songwriter based in Greenwich, Andy Smythe has for the past 20 years quietly stolen the hearts and minds of all that hear his evocative, finely crafted songs. He has a powerful tenor voice that is similar in style to Rufus Wainwright. On his latest single release ‘Car Wash Tuesday’ and on his forthcoming album ‘Hard to be Human’, Andy plays all of the instruments in a McCartney I ‘homemade lockdown’ fashion and switches between folk, blues, and rock genres in a ‘White Album’ approach. As a live performer, Andy has played a huge variety of festivals and venues on the UK folk/acoustic scene on piano/guitar and has toured in the USA. Through the release of ‘Hard to be Human’ Andy is hoping to find a wider audience for his music outside of the folk movement and gain further recognition for the quality and uniqueness of his songwriting.

JON MCLEOD

Singer/songwriter; Jon McLeod blends a variation of indie, folk & blues, then adds a personal twist to the genres, creating his own alternative style with a calmly compelling vocal delivery and distinctive guitar playing. He’s been writing, recording, and performing in different projects over the last 10 years and in the past has received airplay on BBC radio stations from Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens, and Tom Robinson, while playing under the pseudonym: The Focussed Distraction. But for now, has now settled on using his own name to develop his own acoustic trademark.
His singles; “Fuck Up” and “The Cavalry Comes,” were released in May 2020, while his 5 song; “Dream… You’re Awake,” EP was released on 24th July 2020.

The beginning of 2021 saw “The Valuable Single” released on January 8th. Since then he’s been working towards a collection of songs based around observations and emotional responses to occurrences in the current social climate. Recent single; “Jesus Is My Vaccine,”(a song written about Trump supporters, evangelical “bible belt” preachers banishing COVID through your TV screen and a story read during early lockdown about a south London church busted by Trading Standards for selling COVID protection potion… aptly named: “divine cleansing oil), is a taster of things to come.
