Join Dane Baptiste as he workshops material for his highly anticipated new tour show The Chocolate Chip. 

Original, provocative and exceptionally prolific, Dane is now one of the hottest names in British comedy. He made history in 2014 as the first Black British act to be nominated for a comedy award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Dane’s smash hit pilot Bamous aired on BBC1 in 2021 to a huge popular response, charting in the Top 10 comedy TV ratings in the week of its release, and profiled by Dawn French and Naomi Campbell.

Dane’s numerous TV credits include Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, The Stand Up Sketch Show, Black, British and Funny, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order, Roast Battle, Live from the Comedy Store and more.

Running from 9th – 18th July, Banana Cabaret’s annual Balham Comedy Festival promises to be extra special in 2021, with comics, fans and festival team all eager for LIVE SHOWS.
It’s 9 nights of choice standup comedy – celebrity and household name acts, rising stars and comedians’ comedians, first-timers and festival favourites, solo shows and special guest appearances on the Best of Banana Cabaret bills – there are shows to satisfy every comic taste, all wrapped cosily in the round at our beautiful venue.
The festival is presented by Banana Cabaret – one of London’s longest-running premier comedy clubs; loved by comics and audiences alike and always one of the best lineups in town – and is co-produced by Banana Cabaret’s Dave Vickers and award-winning comedian John Moloney.
EARLY SOLO SHOW: Doors: 6.30pm / Show: 7.30pm – 8.30pm. Guests to be seated by 7.00pm. Bar snacks until 7.15pm. Online booking only.
