MUSIC WITH MEANING PRESENTS: LIVE AT THE BEDFORD

We are excited to be starting live music back at The Bedford again, however, due to the Covid-19 situation, we have had to make some fundamental changes to the way the evenings run in order to make sure the environment is safe for everyone.

Tonight’s show is £11.37 per ticket, everyone needs to book in advance – there will be a ticket link below – Sadly we have limited capacity and no ability for people to walk in and stand, everyone needs to have a seat, There will, of course, be a full menu and table service throughout the night to look after you all.

For anyone unable to make it in person we will be streaming the show live (our 17th year of live streaming) via the Facebook page – www.facebook.com/thebedfordpub

Doors open at 7pm and we ask everyone to come early enough and stay long enough to enjoy all the performances, as we are unable to use a table for other people if you arrive late, leave early or aren’t able to make it. Due to tier 2 regulations, you can only have one household or support bubble per table. Thank you for understanding.

This evening we have live music from:

8:00pm NED STRANGER

Ned Stranger is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, writer and recovering law student. He first started writing songs aged fourteen when his grandad found an old nylon string guitar in the attic and mistakenly thought it had belonged to Ned’s dad. The next few years were spent in the Sussex countryside learning the songwriting craft and immersing himself in a wide range of music, from the classical music of his youth as a pianist and violinist, to alternative rock and indie-folk.

After finishing his law studies in Cambridge, he moved to London, turning his back on a promising career in the city to pursue his passions – music and writing. He formed @August and After with a close friend from university and built a loyal following in the capital, culminating in millions of online streams, along with features on/at The Independent, London Live, Songwriting Magazine, Secret Garden Party, Cambridge Folk Festival, various BBC Radio stations and a stream of official Spotify playlists. He then spent several years travelling and performing around Europe. He lived abroad for two of those years, first in Berlin, then in Riga, crafting his own solo sound – a blend of rhythmic electro-pop and classical guitar – before releasing a series of singles through 2020, teeing up a debut EP in early 2021. Alongside his music, he produces films and writes extensively and about the links between creativity and mental wellbeing.

9:00pm REBEKAH FITCH

Rebekah Fitch is an alternative-pop artist from Belfast. She combines her love of melody with thought-provoking poetry; powerful vocals with vulnerability; and unique production with captivating visuals. The power of music is in its ability to carry a message, and this is exactly what Rebekah does. With two EPs under her belt, she has been hotly tipped in Hot Press Magazine and The Thin Air’s Watch Lists, has performed for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and has sold out Belfast’s The MAC Theatre with a 350-seat headline show. Her recent single, Dust, is a heart-wrenching piece about loss and resilience, and has already been playlisted on BBC Radio and RTE1. Follow up single, Game Over (RTE 2FM Track of the Week), was ingeniously released alongside its own video game, which has been praised by fans and press alike.
