8:00PM FRANCESCA GUERRA
Francesca Guerra is an Italian indie pop singer-songwriter based in London. Nostalgic soundscapes and soft folk undertones dream up a familiar atmosphere of melancholic pop. Francesca sings of the hardships of human nature and the polarising effect of love and loss. Journeying from Rome to London Francesca began her solo project after graduating from the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. Her 3rd single “Pathetic” boasts 30k streams and was chosen as one of Tony Robinson’s (BBC Radio 6) top 25 songs of the week. Francesca’s upcoming EP echoes the songwriting of rising artists like Holly Humberstone, Lizzy McAlpine and Daughter, whilst infusing pop tones from Billie Eilish, Coldplay and Taylor Swift.

8:45PM RETROPXSSY
Retropxssy brings a heady mix of styles to the stage with Punk, Hip Hop, Electronica, Jazz and Pop
worn on the sleeves of a vintage outfit which evokes a waitress from those American diners from
the 60s. Skilfully working to an array of backing tracks, Retropxssy is energy personified live,
charging up and down in a frenzy of dance moves and theatrical poses. Her music is continually
surprising while her turn of phrase is witty and engaging, whether she is singing or rapping.
Retropxssy commands the stage combining flamboyance with vulnerability yet presenting like she
is out for a night with her mates.

9:30PM THE TRUSTED
Southend-on-Sea’s finest, The Trusted, will one day have its lyrics sung back to them in festival fields across the land. Schoolfriends from secondary days, the four-piece indie rock band is building an enviable repertoire of memorable, anthemic songs with strong hooks and earnest lyrics. Its songs increasingly deviate from the more formulaic indie stuff with fresh takes on its signature style to complement the lyric content, always keeping the delivery melodic and the sentiments sincere. Lead singer Tom Cunningham fronts the band with considerable vocal prowess and there is that strong sense of camaraderie allied to adept musicianship you find in all great bands.
