Ömer Kaan is a London-based Turkish guitarist, composer, and storyteller who combines his musicianship with cinematic narratives, and immersive aesthetics. Born in Denizli, Türkiye; and raised in a musically rich environment. Ömer started playing guitar as a child, which became the catalyst for a playful rivalry with his best friend that ignited a profound passion for guitar. Which is now a permanent fixture to his identity as a musician. By the time Ömer turned 18, he was performing in Istanbul’s vibrant music scene, appearing at Türkiye’s biggest rock event, Zeytinli Rock Fest.

Between 2018 and 2020, he collaborated with Ozan Kotra from the legendary Turkish band Flört; and later joined the critically acclaimed progressive rock project Riddles in the Dark, whose cinematic singles earned awards in addition to industry praise. In search of new creative ground Ömer relocated to London to pursue a master’s degree in music production. During this time he co-founded the alt-rock band Hello Amnesia, who achieved accelerated success in the form of packed gigs in the UK, an EP, and performances in venues including Islington Assembly Hall and Bush Hall.

A sudden visa setback in 2023 brought Hello Amnesia’s rise to a halt; Ömer however, returned to the UK on a Global talent via with a new established purpose of his own; this was the inception of his solo project Pareidolia was.

Pareidolia transcends the simple definition of an instrumental rock album, it’s a multi-sensory experience of various tales which were birth from Ömer’s imagination. The songs from Pareidolia explore numerous abstract themes including perception, evolution, and emotional distortion. This is all achieve via intricate guitar compositions, unique narratives, and immersive visuals.  Each track offers a multilayered chapter that contributes to a larger mythological arc which unfolds cinematic evolution across various music videos, live shows, and concept art.  The origin of the name itself is in reference to our mind’s tendency to find depth and meaning within things that are random, which creates a perfect Ömer’s method is achieved by first composing with emotion, and then reverse-engineering subconscious themes into stories.

The live experience features synced visuals ranging from AI-generated art and glitchy VJ loops to short films, and has already captivated audiences in London venues like The Bedford, The Finsbury, and Slim Jim’s. With future plans to evolve the show into real-time reactive visuals, VR performances, and orchestral formats, Pareidolia aims to live not just in music venues but also in galleries, planetariums, and beyond.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Plini, and David Gilmour, Ömer Kaan is carving out a space where instrumental music doesn’t just impress, but to also immerses, provokes, and transforms his audience.
