BOOK YOUR TICKETNICK CAPALDI
When Blurs Parklife landed in 1994 a young Nick Capaldi put down his mystery books and saw a huge arrow pointing him in the direction that his life would take. Nick purchased the guitar that he would write over 300 songs with over the next two years. Crafting lyrics and melodies had become an obsession. BBC Radio 2s Bob Harris caught wind of Nicks talent and invited Nick in to play live on his show. He would go on to play Nicks music often over the next few months. Mojo magazine included one of Nicks songs ‘First of the Runaways’ on their cover-mount CD ‘Songs in the Key of Paul’ which they themed on music inspired by the works of Paul McCartney.
Nicks first album was produced by The Rolling Stones producer Chris Kimsey. He then recorded in Nashville where Brendon Benson produced Nicks EP ‘Lovers Leap’. Nick went on to self produce two more albums and one EP. Now, in 2023, Capaldi is preparing to release to the world his best and most impressive work to date ‘You and all the Seasons’ which was recorded at his own studio which he runs with his wife and manager Grace, along with their four terriers in the Dorset countryside.
Nick is heavily inspired by artists such as Blur, Ryan Adams, Brian Wilson and The Beatles. On his new album, ‘You and all the Seasons’ his styles range from intricate ballads, straight out rock, Reggae and a strong seasoning of cheeky Britpop, which Nick believes is about to make a huge resurgence.
Session musicians such as Albert Lee, Robbie McIntosh, BJ Cole, Billy Nicholls, Ian Jennings and Paul Beavis joined Nick as they brought the new songs to life. The album is led by the first single ‘Sunnies and Guitars’ which was based on an interview Nick read with Richie Sambora who said “You can never have enough sunglasses or guitars’. So true.

BASTIE
Bastie is a former ‘BBC Introducing Artist of the Week’ and UK Songwriting competition finalist who is influenced by Sam Fender, Lily Allen and Bowie. His latest track Too Late is his first collaboration with Ivor Novello nominated producer Brett Shaw who has previously produced both a number one and two album with Florence + the Machine and Foals. Bastie was keen to utilise Brett’s trademark live, raw instrumentation with this release due to the songs grittier undertones commenting on Bastie’s once regrettable run in with the law.
This year, Bastie has taken to the main stage at festivals such as Pub in the Park, Lakefest and also this year’s Carfest, this follows a string of successful 2022 slots, including Boardmasters, Carfest North & South and headlining Pub in the Park alongside Mcfly, The Lightning Seeds and Toploader. Hot Press stated: “The only way is up for this English talent. Hot Press are certainly excited to see what indie-pop anthems he emerges with next”.
Meanwhile, Bastie is also set to appear in an upcoming Netflix program playing the well-known track “Handbags and Gladrags”.
