Maddy Carty is a London-based singer-songwriter with a unique, soulful sound. Her previous releases have gained support from Radio 1, 1xtra and BBC 6 Music. She writes songs of social commentary, love and life and has a political edge, which has allowed her to play for a wide array of audiences, supporting the likes of Madness and Norman Jay.
Last year, she teamed up with her new band, The Tracksuits, and they have curated an eclectic, soul pop sound with hints of reggae and ska thrown in. With her signature blend of warmth and bite, Carty uses her music to cut through the noise. Known for her fearless lyricism and soulful sound, Carty delivers tracks that resonate deeply with today’s world. Maddy’s latest E.P., ‘Otherhood’, will be out in April.
“Sickeningly talented and using her gifts to make the world seem just a little bit fairer.” Ian McCann, Record Collector Magazine
“A strikingly sophisticated and self-contained talent, Maddy Carty’s commanding yet delicate vocal is serviced by original songs of depth and commitment.” Gavin Martin, Daily Mirror

MIDDLENAME
Middlename is an uplifting cocktail of catchy vocal hooks, melodic guitar riffs, and poetic songwriting. Blending the power of classic rock with the narrative flair of musical theatre, this 5-piece outfit crafts a sound that is as anthemic as it is intimate.
The band was founded after a chance encounter between teachers in the halls of a music academy: Jac, a composer with a background in theatre, and Lottie, a vocalist trained in the rigorous world of opera. Together with bandmates Yusuf, Nate & Alex, they bring drama and scale to the indie-rock stage.
