8:30 PM TAKEDA

From Norwich, a forgotten corner of the UK, Takeda are pioneering an explosive and compelling brand of rock music; equal parts folk, grunge, post-rock, post-hardcore, post metal, desert-rock, math-rock, raga-rock, American primitive, psych-rock, ambient… Their sound is impossible to pigeonhole without brandishing a list of references as long as your arm. After touring the UK in 2023, honing their live act into a hypnotic and engaging experience that you will not be able to turn away from, Takeda have just released their first single California. A live favourite that always has the audience shouting along to the chorus, California lays out Takeda’s stall: intricate and delicate melodies over fuzzed guitars, earnest vocals with hooks sharp enough to break the skin. California is available to stream anywhere from October 20th 2023.

8:30 PM THE MIGHTY HEARTACHE

If you like your rock n roll with the swagger and heart of the 70s, the spirit of the 60’s, a dollop of country and rockabilly, and words to make you think, maybe make you cry, and a beat to get your feet a dancin’, The Mighty Heartache is what you’re looking for. The band has been around in its current format since 2021, performing the song book of its front man, the Fabulous Micky C, which has been evolving across 3 albums since 2008. Style-wise, think Elvis C meets Elvis P with the energy of the Clash, the raunch of The Stones all mixed up in Nashville and dropped into the heart of the Finchley Delta.
