JAMMA & RADIO WIGWAM PRESENTS: BABY SAID, SIMON OAKLEY & THE WITCHING HOUNDS, MOTORCYCLE DISPLAY TEAM
Artist showcase this evening is courtesy of Jamma Music & Radio Wigwam with performances from:
Baby Said
Since their debut, Baby Said has been making waves in the alternative world. Their singles were handpicked by the Editorial team at Apple Music, earning spots on flagship playlists like The New Rock (#2 in the UK and Italy) and New in Rock (#4 in the UK, USA, and more). Their track “MOUTH SHUT” garnered widespread Apple editorial support, while “PANIC ATTACK” provided the perfect conclusion to their debut EP, Who Gives A Rock.
Veronica and Jess’s hard-hitting sound has caught the attention of the music industry, leading to radio support from Radio 1’s Alyx Holcombe Show, Radio Wigwam, BBC Introducing, Radio X, and more. They were also named “Ones to Watch” by ROTD, and A&R Worldwide selected them as Artists of the Week.
Fresh off supporting U.S. rockers Dirty Honey on tour they were selected for The Great Escape Festival, Reading & Leeds, Live At Leeds, Victorious, Rebellion, Twisterella, and Loud Women. The band’s festival performances promise to further cement their place as one of the UK’s most exciting new rock acts.
Veronica and Jess’s musical journey began early—Veronica picked up the guitar at only six years old, while Jess followed in her footsteps at the age of four. Their passion for music led them from busking on the streets to forming their covers band Astro Moda, performing at over 200 gigs across the UK. In 2023, the duo partnered with Big Hug Management and formed Baby Said, a name inspired by their favorite song by Måneskin.

Motorcycle Display Team
MDT are an alt-rock band that have carved their own niche, self-releasing a collection of idiosyncratic records, and never taking themselves too seriously.
Their first effort, 2009’s EP The Crayon Masterpiece, showcased an early taste for jaunty guitar pop, which was elaborated upon with the release of their first studio LP, Captatio Benevolentiae in 2012, gaining attention from its catchy singles Brickwall and Betweenager.
By 2015 the sparkly guitar pop had developed a harder edge with the more raw sound of Letters of Last Resort EP, and by 2018’s long player Yours Probably the recipe was seasoned with a sprinkle of prog.
Bringing a fun sensibility to their candid live act at hundreds of shows across Europe, their songs tackle themes from the personal to the political with a wry and self-deprecating humour.
Their last album ‘Wereman’ came out to hugely positive reviews. The first single ‘Armchair Politician’ has already received lots of FM radio play across the UK and Ireland.
With the 2024 release of the Heartbeaten EP, the lineup expanded to keys, flute, backing singers and string quartet ,arranged by Nick Squires (London Philharmonic Orchestra, Pet Shop Boys, Girls Aloud) which received notably positive reviews in magazines such as CLASH, VENTS and BACKSEAT MAFIA and the “To The Endless” was voted Single of the Year at the 8th Radio Wigwam Awards.
