LEGENDARY PROMO MAN RELEASES LOST MUSIC

For the past 30 years Dylan White has promoted the music of major artists including Oasis, U2, Paul Weller, Arctic Monkeys, Fatboy Slim, Joe Strummer, Saint Etienne, Primal Scream, Mark Morrison, The Libertines, Midge Ure, Chemical Brothers, Suede, Gabrielle, The Alarm, Faithless, Travis, The Beautiful South, Billy Bragg, The Farm and a whole host more!!

But before he did all that, he did this……… “From 1978 at the age of 20 to around 1988 I put my heart and soul into the desire of being a rock star and so began my true life adventure into the world of music, over this period of time, I would play gigs in London pubs and clubs and try my hardest to write songs, in 1981 at the age of 23 I came up with ‘Watching Cranes’, ‘Caught By Love’, Designs On That Girl’ plus others yet to be re-recorded. However, due to my limited singing ability……I was never signed up, so I moved on to other ways of working within the music industry to some level of success. Fast-forward 39 years to 2020 and the COVID pandemic, made me realise that if didn’t do something with these old tunes right now, it may be too late for me!! So my debut single ‘Watching Cranes’ which I’d re-recorded in 2011 and sat on, was released in 2020 and received a raft of plaudits from the likes of Janice Long, Alan McGee, Johnnie Walker and Rodney Bingenheimer to name but a few!!
All this gave me the confidence to dig further into my 78-88 cassette box to see if I had any other forgotten tunes worthy of revisiting, so I have my second single ‘Caught By Love’ and my third single ‘Designs On That Girl’.

With these, I played around with the arrangements and words, as I felt both could be better. I then recorded the basic tracks at home in London on GarageBand and sent them to my producer Jason Tarver who now resides in Barcelona, he then played all the instruments and sent it back to me to do the final vocals, oh I love the modern world.  I can’t quite believe I’m writing this exactly 40 years after creating these songs, but a good tune will never let you down and you’re only old when you stop dreaming!!”
