8:30pm MADDIE MAGDALENE

Maddie Magdalene certainly has a story to tell. Since a young age, she has enjoyed telling stories, in poetry, song, performance, and the written word. In a new chapter for the artist, this natural ability for storytelling is being lifted to new heights with daring production partnered with powerful vocals.

Maddie aspired to a life on the stage originally in musical theatre, at 17 she began to write her way out of a painful time and never stopped writing. With notable acclamations under her belt already such as Mayor of London Song Prize 2018, multiple spins on BBC Introducing in North and West Yorkshire, Amazing Radio, and Riverside Radio, Maddie Magdalene is a promising new artist.

The Unsigned Guide’s Jamie Hamilton praised Maddie’s early success back in 2019: “Maddie radiates a natural ease.. when it comes to music-making. Her melodies are expressive and infectious, her voice is distinctive and her lyrics honest, giving her an edge in a crowded singer-songwriter marketplace.”

In 2017, Rachel had success with her independently released single, You’re the One, and the title track from her album “It’s Time” made its way into independent film Deadringer. This went on to be showcased at film festivals in Cannes and Florida; she also performed at the premiere in Leicester Square. This step into the film industry has opened some very exciting doors, as Rachel has been writing original music for feature films The Seven (Dean Cain) released 2019, and Ria (Luke Goss) released in 2021. Not only has she been an integral part of the creative process behind the scenes, in November 2018 she also flew to LA for her acting debut in Ria after the director felt one of the songs would be better performed on scene by Rachel herself, building her a character into the script. After a telephone audition, showcasing her ability to do American accents, she landed the part and flew to LA 3 weeks later.

Not only has she been kept busy with projects in film, Rachel teamed up with DJ producer Freqload to release house track, Bad Boys, in January 2020. Since then, through the craziness of 2020 she found her latest sound. Writing Keys to the Sky in her bedroom, and having incredible feedback from Charlie Sloth, she decided this track had something special. In February 2021 she released it to the world with high praise from the industry and a buzz around her welcome back. She is now back in the studio working on new music to release in the new year.
