Henry Grace is a British singer-songwriter. He was born and raised in London before his family moved to a farm in Oxfordshire where he started to write his first songs. He struggled with depression during his childhood and, at the age of 21, he left home and made his way to California in search of a new life. It was there that he started to pursue a career in music.
Living in Los Angeles, he worked as a musician while studying literature at college. He earned his first radio plays after self-releasing two early EPs and began building a loyal following on the west coast – selling out venues such as the Hotel Café in LA. Music helped him overcome his past struggles and, as his time in the States continued, he made the transition from British folk singer to Americana songwriter and began to draw comparisons to the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Bon Iver and many of the other great American storytellers.
After five years in the States, he moved home to London where he started to write and tour relentlessly. Playing over a hundred dates in 2019, he headlined sell out shows at St Pancras Old Church and Bush Hall and supported artists like Mercury Prize winner Benjamin Clementine.
He also started to share his story and advocate for mental health awareness – collaborating with companies such as Sofar Sounds to raise thousands of pounds for UK mental health charities through live music. His debut album, Alive in America, recorded at Rockfield Studios, is set to be released later this year.
